Maritime Strike To Affect Greek Shipping
The Association of Judicial Employees will hold a 24-hour nationwide strike and a demonstration at 12:00 at the Ministry of Labor. The action involves judicial assistants and is described as an emergency interruption of duties. The action is part of a 24-hour Panhellenic strike. Justice Minister Giorgos Floridis has called on the Ministry of Justice to immediately implement effective security measures across all judicial buildings in Greece. Floridis stated that conclusions from recent events must be addressed through increased security measures. The Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a travel alert following a general strike announced by Greek unions. Starting at midnight, the maritime sector will be completely blocked, leaving all ferries to the islands at the shore. The strike is expected to impact travel to the Greek islands.
