Soldiers Return To Duty After Ajax Testing
The UK government announced that trials for the Ajax armoured vehicles will resume cautiously. Defence Minister Luke Pollard stated the symptoms were caused by a combination of factors and noted that more work is required to rebuild confidence in the vehicles. The contract for the 580 vehicles is valued at 6 billion pounds. The project involves a six billion pound contract for 580 vehicles, according to the Defence Correspondent. The six billion pound contract for 580 AJAX armored vehicles was signed in 2010. The vehicles were intended to enter service nearly a decade ago but faced setbacks including excessive noise and vibration. Last year, Luke Pollard claimed the vehicle was used to drive a car. Pollard attributed the issues to technical problems, training variability, and poor air quality within the vehicle.
