Man Suspect Arrested In Algeria For Nantes Woman's Disappearance
Algeria may refuse to extradite an Algerian national who was apprehended following an international arrest warrant. The Nantes Public Prosecutor has not confirmed if an extradition request is planned. An extradition request must be made through diplomatic channels within 40 days of an arrest. The suspect's spouse has not yet been questioned by French investigators. Relations between France and Algeria are currently described as extremely tense. A 41-year-old Algerian national has been arrested in Algeria in connection with the disappearance of Manon Rolando. Rolando has been missing for one month near Nantes. Her partner is the primary suspect in her suspected murder. The victim had contacted a women's rights organization prior to her disappearance.
