KMT Representative Calls For Impeachment Of Lai Ching-te
Scholars at a public hearing in the Legislative Yuan criticized President Lai Ching-te regarding his approach to national security and legislative processes. The critics described President Lai's actions regarding large-scale parliamentary recalls as undermining the legislature. Some scholars further alleged that these practices constitute a subversion of the constitutional order. The criticism also addressed the use of constitutional court justices in these processes. Taiwanese scholars have criticized President Lai Ching-te regarding his handling of legislative matters and domestic communication. A hearing regarding an impeachment case against President Lai Ching-te was held on April 1st. Kuomintang (KMT) representative Lo Chih-chiang stated that impeaching President Lai Ching-te is the only way to prevent the collapse of the domestic political system.
