Former Russian Deputy Environment Minister Leaves Country
Russian activist Anna Korellek reported being told to leave the country following her participation in anti-war protests. The activist stated that such measures are used to silence critical Russians, particularly those who travel frequently for visa runs. Former Deputy Minister of Natural Resources Denis Butsaev left Russia via Minsk on April 22 following his resignation. Vedomosti reports that fraud cases have been opened against Butsaev's former subordinates in Russia. The Ministry of Natural Resources has not commented on the matter. Butsaev was described as a key figure in the Russian waste management sector.
