developing BBC World Service Vienna 14d14d Impact 6
Prosecutors state a man involved in a trial swore allegiance to an Islamic State cell. The accused reportedly attempted to acquire weapons and manufacture a bomb. The trial is expected to conclude later in May, with a potential sentence of up to 20 years in prison. The defendant's lawyer stated he will plead guilty to some of the charges today. Prosecutors also allege he was involved in planning an attack on a Taylor Swift concert in Vienna. A second person is also currently on trial alongside Baron A, who was arrested following a CIA tip-off. A trial commenced yesterday involving a security advisor linked to the Assad family and operations in southern Syria.
