Ukraine Requests Israeli Action Over Stolen Grain Ship
Ukraine has summoned the Israeli ambassador to demand action regarding grain shipments. This marks the second vessel identified by Kyiv this month, following the BINZ, which was permitted to discharge cargo in Israel despite Ukrainian alerts. This follows a similar incident in early April involving the vessel Abbins, which was permitted to dock despite warnings from Kyiv. The Panormitis, a vessel flying a Panamanian flag, is reportedly preparing to discharge cargo at the port of Haifa in northern Israel. Israeli officials in Tel Aviv have stated that the evidence provided by Ukraine is insufficient to support these claims. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reported that the ship Panometis is carrying grain stolen from occupied Ukraine. The European Union issued a statement saying such shipments enable Russia to fund its illegal war effort.
