Polish Lawmakers Propose Healthcare System Reform
The Polish government is discussing potential funding cuts for medical examinations of adult patients within the country's underfunded healthcare system. Former Deputy Health Minister Posowianusz Cieszyński described the situation as scandalous in response to the Ministry of Health letter. The proposed measures aim to generate budget savings. Ten hospitals in a Polish voivodeship have entered a competitive bidding process and secured funding for various projects. Agnieszka Głowiak, Director of the Health Department at the Voivodeship Office, stated that the subsidies range from several million to 20 million PLN depending on the project. The funds are sourced from the Recovery and Resilience Facility (KPO). New regulations introducing new standards came into effect on Saturday. A new parliamentary bill aims to reform Poland's healthcare system to address funding gaps.
