Braila Proposes Slot Machine Restrictions
Local authorities in Braila have proposed a new regulation to limit the number of gambling venues in the municipality. The proposal aims to cap the number of operating units at 30, whereas 27 currently function in the city. The regulation includes a proposed annual fee of 1,500 lei per square meter for venues hosting slot machines. Officials stated the ceiling is intended to protect the general interest of the community. Some residents may travel to neighboring Galati or use online systems to access gambling services due to these potential restrictions. Additionally, halls hosting slot machines must not exceed 100 square meters.
