Igor Chaika Appointed Head Of Cooperation Growth
Igor Chaika has been named the new head of Rossotrudnichestvo, succeeding Yevgeny Primakov. Chaika is 37 years old and an alumnus of the Kutafin Moscow State Law University. He previously served as an advisor to a governor near Moscow and joined the Primakov International Cooperation Fund's board in 2017. The appointment follows the departure of Alexei Polkovnikov, who left the agency in January by presidential decree. Chaika is the son of a former Russian Prosecutor General. He succeeds Evgeny Primakov, who led the agency since 2020 and announced his departure on April 24. Chaika previously served as the agency's deputy head since March 10, 2025.
