Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi confirmed that Russia and Iran maintain a strategic partnership at the highest levels. The agreement spans 25 years and covers security, energy, infrastructure, and technology sectors. The partnership includes Chinese investments in Iran that could reach $400 billion. According to the Chinese Foreign Ministry, the arrangement also involves allowing certain vessels to pass through the Strait of Hormuz under special arrangements. This follows the comprehensive strategic cooperation agreement established in 2001. The framework agreement, originally established in 2021, extends for 25 years. The deal follows Tehran's strengthening ties with Moscow, according to the report. The United States and Iran remain in a standoff characterized by a lack of active combat or formal negotiations.
