South Africa Pursues Genocide Accusation Against Israel
The International Court of Justice (ICJ) has been presented with evidence by South Africa against Israel. The allegations claim Israel has committed acts of genocide against the Palestinian people in Gaza since October. The case cites thousands of civilian deaths, forced population displacements, and the obstruction of humanitarian aid. South Africa also points to dehumanizing statements made by high-ranking Israeli officials. South Africa has presented evidence to the International Court of Justice regarding Israel's actions in Gaza. The submission includes 84 pages to be examined by 15 judges. The judges will first hold two days of debate to decide if urgent conservatory measures are required. Pretoria alleges that Israel shows intent to destroy part of the Palestinian group in Gaza. The case involves investigations into actions taken during the winter period.
