UK Pensioner Benefits to Reach £177 Billion
The United Kingdom plans to allocate £177 billion for pensioner benefits in the fiscal year 2025-2026. This spending includes support for universal credit and other welfare programs for working-age individuals and children, which will total £145 billion. This spending on pensioners will be higher than the £145 billion allocated for working-age people and children's welfare during the same period. The welfare spending for working-age individuals includes funds for universal credit and its predecessors, as well as non-DWP welfare programs.
