Catalan Teachers Report Increased Classroom Aggression

A majority of teachers in Catalonia, over 82%, perceive the classroom work environment as conflictive and complicated. Furthermore, 85% of teachers reported an increase in verbal and sometimes physical aggressions. This data emerged in the context of a plan being implemented in cities like Hospitalet, where a primary school faculty staged a walkout. Seven out of ten teachers in Catalonia have experienced some form of aggression, according to reports in Mobile. These incidents include verbal abuse and physical assaults occurring every two to three weeks. The aggressors are identified as being students or their parents.
