Russian Institute Director Accused Of Embezzlement
A court sentenced the head of Rusnano to 9 years in prison and a fine of approximately 15 million rubles for embezzling over 6 billion rubles. The funds were allocated for the production of plastic displays and gadgets. A civil claim exceeding 6.5 billion rubles was fully satisfied by the court. Russia's Supreme Court has referred a case to Moscow courts involving Ramil Shayduilin, the head of Avtodor. Shayduilin is accused of embezzlement and the legalization of funds related to the theft of budget money totaling 18 billion rubles. The case involves allegations of misappropriating state funds. Anton Serykov, a former institute director, faces charges of large-scale embezzlement under Russian law. The prosecution alleges he misappropriated more than 22.5 million rubles. Serykov previously worked as a senior lecturer and completed postgraduate studies at Rostov State University.
