EU Commission Rejects Ukraine's Special Accession Procedure
The European Commission has stated that the EU will not apply a special accession procedure to Ukraine. The EU remains committed to its classic enlargement policy based on the merits of candidate countries. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had previously requested Ukraine's accession to the union by 2027.
