German Social Partners Discuss Minimum Wage and Collective Bargaining
The central promise of social partnership in Germany remains fair wages for good work, according to SPD leader and Labor Minister Werbel Baas. The minimum wage already benefits six million people not covered by collective agreements. Baas said the need to strengthen collective bargaining, quoting the Chancellor's 2025 government declaration on 'proper wages for good work.' Influential SPD state groups are meeting in Bielefeld to discuss this initiative.
