Romanian Senator Resigns Amid No-Confidence Motion

Romanian Minister Sorin Grindeanu has reportedly dismissed any possibility of an alliance with George Simion's party. Senator Victoria Stoiuciu resigned from the Social Democratic Party (PSD) following a disagreement over a political alliance. Stoiuciu accused the party leadership of sacrificing democratic values and normalizing fascism through the current partnership. The resignation could impact upcoming parliamentary votes, as reports suggest several lawmakers may vote against their own Prime Minister. Victoria Stoiu has announced her resignation from the Social Democratic Party (PSD) in Romania. Her departure follows the party's announcement that it will file a motion of no confidence alongside the AUR party. Stoiu stated that the decision to sign the motion was a red line she could not cross. The motion initiators have collected over 233 signatures, meeting the minimum threshold required to potentially trigger the fall of the Bolojan government in one week. Parliament is currently making final corrections to the document text.
