Greek Councilor Punished for Advocating Constitution
A municipal councilor in Athens was punished and placed under restriction for proposing a resolution for a constitution from King Otto. The councilor had been elected to the Athens Municipal Council in 1833 and became president of the council in January 1837. He had previously sided with constitutionalists and welcomed the abdication of King Otto, but quickly came into conflict with the regency and the King.
