Ukraine Implements Martial Law
Law enforcement in Ukraine has uncovered a conversion center scheme, with evidence gathered from nearly 40 searches in the Dnipropetrovsk region. The decree follows a proposal submitted to the Verkhovna Rada on April 27. This extension moves the previous deadline from May 4 to May 8. Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov stated on April 30 that Russia remains willing to restart negotiations on the Ukraine issue based on existing Russian-US consensus. Lavrov noted that President Putin reiterated this position during a phone call with US President Trump on April 29. Ukraine's President Zelenskyy also stated that invitations for US Special Envoy Witkoff and Kushner to visit remain valid, though they have not yet responded. The extension aims to maintain the current state of national defense.
