DC Police Review Handling of Domestic Incident
Interim DC police chief Jeffrey Carroll stated his department is reviewing the handling of a domestic incident involving Florida Republican Representative Corey Mills. A woman reported last February that a police supervisor allegedly overrode an officer who wanted to pursue an arrest. United States attorney for DC Ed Martin also declined to issue a warrant for Mills. Carroll expressed his opinion that if probable cause exists for a domestic offense, an arrest should be made regardless of the person's status, including members of Congress. Mills is also facing an ethics investigation in Congress.
