French Artisans May Work On May 1st
On Friday, May 1st, florists and bakers in France will be permitted to work, with employees who volunteer to do so receiving double pay. This change was announced by the government last week. However, unions and left-wing parties are protesting this decision, viewing it as an infringement on workers' rights on a day traditionally observed as a holiday.
