China Approves Criminal Justice and Cooperation Treaties
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ma Zhaoxu also provided explanations for treaties with Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan. The committee also passed a permanent forestry cooperation treaty. Additionally, the meeting approved the new Social Assistance Law and a revised Prison Law. The 22nd meeting of the 14th National People's Congress Standing Committee concluded in Beijing on Thursday. The meeting also announced the removal of Han Jun as Minister of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, appointing Zhang Zhu to the role. Zhang Chengzhong was appointed as the Minister of Emergency Management. Zhao Leji stated the law is for strengthening the social security safety net and promoting social equity. The legislation aims to maintain social harmony and stability.
