Bartosz Grodecki Appointed Head Of National Security Bureau

A new head of Poland's National Security Bureau is expected to be announced within the next half hour. Deputy Minister of Defense Stanisław Wziątek expressed hope for good cooperation between his department and the National Security Bureau. Wziątek stated his hope that the president will make a choice that facilitates good cooperation. A source expressed hope that the Polish president's choice for the new National Security Bureau Chief will allow for good cooperation. President Karol Nawrocki is expected to announce the appointment of a new head for the National Security Bureau soon. The President, presenting the candidacy of Bartłomiej Grodecki as the new head of the National Security Bureau, spoke about Grodecki's experience. As a diplomat, he is expected to facilitate dialogue across different circles and understands that security should not be viewed from partisan political perspectives. Grodecki previously worked for 14 years in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and served in Polish diplomatic institutions in the USA and Sweden. His responsibilities will include working on security force reforms and cooperating with NATO allies. Grodecki previously served in diplomatic roles in Los Angeles, Malmö, and Stockholm. As Vice-Minister of Internal Affairs and Administration, he was responsible for migration policy and anti-human trafficking activities. He replaced Sławomir Cenckiewicz, who ceased to be the head of the National Security Bureau at the end of April.
