German SPD Opposes Law Rollback
The SPD (Social Democratic Party) introduced a motion yesterday in the Berlin House of Representatives concerning the mobility law. The proposal aims to remove the requirement for bike lanes on all main roads, suggesting side streets could be designated as bicycle streets instead. Kappel stated this change would create less safety, citing narrower side streets and common travel routes along main roads.
