Portuguese Socialist Party Leader Criticizes Government Inflation Response
Within the Socialist Party, some members believed they were being directly impacted by certain directives. The Socialist Party has announced a set of demands regarding the Plan for Territorial Resilience and Recovery (PTRR) presented by the government this week. The party seeks to bind future governments to the execution of the program and demands the publication of specific funding values for each municipality. Additionally, the party is calling for a reduction in what it describes as bureaucracy within the document. A resolution project addressing these points will be presented in Parliament. The party also criticized the plan for failing to distinguish between catastrophe response and general development policy, and for not addressing issues such as climate change. Luiz Montenegro has been accused by the Socialist Party of downplaying inflation levels.
