North Korea Amends Constitution, Adopts Nuclear Retaliatory Strike
North Korea has added new territorial provisions to its constitution through a constitutional amendment, according to a report from CBS News Seoul. After four rounds of negotiations, political parties have failed to reach a consensus on a new law. A legislator stated they are willing to accept the decision of the supervisory committee and humbly re-examine the incident. North Korea's Supreme People's Assembly has amended a law to further said national sovereignty. This constitutional change was reported by Europesays. This amendment signifies a hardening of the country's stance on national security. North Korea has amended its constitution to state it will use nuclear weapons in case of Kim Jong Un's assassination. This follows the assassination of Iran's supreme leader Ali Khamenei. The specific conditions under which the country would use nuclear weapons have been outlined.
