Bogota Mayor Claims Regiotram Funding Insufficient

Blu Radio Colombia Bogota 7d6d Impact 5
The national government signed a COMPES document that excludes Bogota from providing financial contributions to the Regio Tram del Norte project. Miguel Silva, the Secretary General of Bogota, stated the decision was made without consulting the city's mayor's office. The project involves the Regio Tram del Norte transit development. The project lacks provisions for several elevated sections, intersections, and vehicle bridges that must also accommodate pedestrians and cyclists. Additionally, the current plan does not include integration with Bogota's existing integrated transport system. The mayor noted that additional funds would be required to address these gaps.
