Gunman Apprehended After Shots Fired Near Ballroom

An alleged gunman was apprehended after firing shots near a secure ballroom. The suspect was armed with a shotgun, a handgun, and several knives. US acting Attorney General stated the suspect was likely targeting members of the administration. The suspect was prevented from entering the ballroom itself. The incident occurred on the floor immediately above the ballroom. The Secret Service advanced team typically begins site lockdowns and screenings weeks before such events to secure the perimeter. Security protocols failed to prevent the incident involving a firearm near the ballroom. There are currently no reports that the weapon used was 3D printed.
