Glasgow Police Implement New City Center Security Law

Glasgow authorities have begun applying a 2024 law to secure the city center for the first time. Police are using dispersal orders an average of 14 times per day to manage crowds. The measure allows police to ban individuals from the city center for up to 16 years. At least 43 people have been arrested for antisocial behavior after being warned not to return to the area near the station.
