Taiwanese Council Meeting Postponed Due To Speaker's Illness
The Keelung City Council has postponed its scheduled regular meeting due to the illness of Speaker Hsieh Kuo-liang. A nomination for legislator Xu Shao-kuang was rejected by the Legislative Yuan with 50 votes in favor, 61 against, and one invalid vote. Keelung Mayor Kung Tzu-wei postponed a city council meeting scheduled for May 6 due to health reasons requiring hospitalization. The Mayor of Kaohsiung, Kung Tsui-wei, has postponed the 20th session of the 7th regular meeting of the Kaohsiung City Council due to health reasons requiring hospitalization. The city government notified the city council on Monday afternoon. A provisional procedural committee meeting on Tuesday morning decided to postpone the session. This event was previously reported.
