Opposition Party Seeks Constitutional Revision In Portugal
The Liberal Initiative party plans to present a proposal for constitutional revision in Portugal. The proposal aims to establish private property as a fundamental right. It also seeks to address structural distrust of the market and examine the effects of artificial intelligence on civil liberties and guarantees. Brent crude oil prices rose to trade above $113 per barrel. José Manuel Poreza stated that the opposition party intends to revise the Constitution to achieve objectives currently prohibited by fundamental law, specifically regarding nationality matters. Poreza noted that the government has abandoned dialogue on the issue. He also expressed concern that the PSD is showing increasing proximity to an extreme-right agenda.
