Australian Government Delays Return of Syrian Refugees
The Australian federal government is utilizing temporary exclusion orders to delay the return of 13 Australian citizens currently in Damascus, Syria. Home Affairs Minister Tony Burke issued an exclusion order via ASIO against one woman in the group to delay the cohort's entry. These legal orders can only delay citizens for approximately 12 months. The opposition is demanding urgent action to prevent the group from entering the country.
