Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau attended a European Union summit at the invitation of European Council President Charles Michel. The event includes participation from Canada and Mexico. The final session of the summit is scheduled to be held in Saudi Arabia. The Prime Minister of Canada participated in the EU Political Communities Leaders Summit. The move is viewed as a strategic effort to coordinate with European allies. This move follows recent US threats to increase tariffs on European and American automobiles. Germany has criticized these tariff threats as affecting all of Europe. Experts suggest the move is intended to strengthen European-Canadian interaction to counter potential US threats.
