Suspect Identified In Washington Gala Shooting
International leaders have issued statements condemning a shooting that occurred during a Washington gala. The suspect faces two charges: use of a firearm during a violent crime and aggression against a federal officer using a dangerous weapon. US Justice Minister Todd Blanche stated the shooter may have specifically targeted government employees. The shooting occurred specifically as guests were beginning their meal and resulted in the immediate evacuation of President Trump and the First Lady by Secret Service. Suspect Cole Thomas Allen was arrested after storming two security checkpoints during the White House Correspondents Association dinner on Saturday. Footage released by President Trump shows Allen charging past officers at approximately 8:36 PM. Authorities are investigating a 31-year-old mechanical engineer in connection with the intrusion and shooting at a Washington gala.
