German Politicians Debate NATO Deterrence Strategy
The German government has presented key points for a law intended to replace the current heating regulations. Under the new plan, landlords may continue to install oil and gas heating systems provided they use a proportional amount of climate-friendly fuels. SPD politician Hubertz suggested that landlords should share the rising costs of heating to prevent tenants from bearing the full financial burden. SPD health policy spokesperson Christos Pantazis argues that the central issue lies in the expenditure side rather than revenue. SPD leader Lars Klingbeil has proposed exempting Bürgergeld recipients from health costs to save 10 billion euros annually via the federal budget. Green Party leader Felix Banaschak stated that while reform is necessary, the party is currently developing its own concepts.
