US Diplomatic Chief Meets Italian Counterpart Tajani
The meeting will take place in Italy. US Senator Marco Rubio held a diplomatic meeting with Pope Leo XIV in Rome. This meeting follows former US President Trump's sharp criticism of Meloni in mid-April, citing Italy's refusal to participate in the Iran war and her deeming Trump's criticism of the Pope unacceptable. It is considered likely they will discuss global crises. Rubio and Tajani met at Farnesina, the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio arrived at the Farnesina in Rome, where he was received by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani.
