Poland Empowers Village Councils For Local Decisions
A new presidential council will be established in Warsaw to support the president and develop a joint strategy regarding Poland and Poles living abroad. The council is intended to work in cooperation with the Bureau for Poles Abroad. Agnes Kajenjak from the President's Chancellery stated the council is expected to have real influence on state actions. Members of the council have been invited to Warsaw for its formation. The Polish government has expressed readiness to host United States military forces withdrawn from Germany. Poland is prepared to provide bases, logistics, and financial support to facilitate the deployment. An initiative in Poland allows village councils (radom sołeckim) to make decisions independently, without requiring delegation or approval from a higher office (urząd).
