Syria Proposes Gas Pipeline Expansion Through Jordan
Energy ministry representatives from Syria, Jordan, and Lebanon held a video conference to discuss activation procedures for the Arab Gas Pipeline. The information was released via the Syrian state news agency. The meeting occurred following an initial report on April 24. Syrian Deputy Minister of Energy for Oil Affairs, Diab, confirmed the Syrian energy network is ready following technical tests. The project is designed to serve as a artery for economic integration between Syria, Jordan, and Lebanon. Diab described the network as a strategic asset that positions Syria as a stable transit state for energy. The infrastructure aims to strengthen regional energy security through tripartite cooperation. The Syrian Ministry of Energy stated that the national grid has reached high readiness levels following technical tests along the route from the Jordanian border to Lebanon.
