Challenges May Delay Guatemala Election Process
The Guatemala presidential election is expected to proceed to a second round on June 7. Right-wing candidate Keiko Fujimori holds 17.12% of the vote, while left-wing candidate Roberto Sánchez holds 12.04%. Ultra-right candidate Rafael López Aliaga follows with 11.87%, trailing the second-place candidate by 27,458 votes. López Aliaga has reportedly denounced the electoral process. Authorities are working to verify information regarding results in Zona 3.
