Social Tourism Program For Unemployed Workers Begins
The Greek Public Employment Service announced a social tourism program for workers and the unemployed for the 2026-2027 period. The initiative will provide financial support for solar water heaters and energy-saving measures. Officials expect the program to potentially achieve up to 70% energy savings. The repayment follows a subsidy scandal that has already resulted in the resignation of several ministers. Farmers across the country previously blocked highways and ports during winter protests against the government. Many farmers reported they did not receive subsidies and expressed concern regarding future payments. Investigators also discovered a Ferrari and a Porsche during an inquiry involving a politician. The program aims to develop new knowledge within companies. The program is funded by the Recovery and Resilience Fund.
