Hanoi Permits Pickup Trucks To Operate 24 Hours

Large vehicles exceeding 10-ton limits are operating daily in a residential area near the intersection of Tran Huong Dao and Quyet Du. The parking lot is located 50 meters from the intersection and 100 meters from the Phu My Ward People's Committee headquarters. These heavy vehicles use a road intended for students, workers, and local residents to avoid flooding on National Highway 51. Local reporting indicates the presence of the parking lot has transformed the residential street. Overweight vehicles exceeding 10 tons are frequently entering a residential street near the Tran Huong Dao intersection in Hanoi. Despite existing signage prohibiting trucks over 10 tons, the violations persist daily. Residents express anxiety regarding potential accidents in the neighborhood. The Hanoi People's Committee issued Decision 52 allowing pickup trucks to circulate 24 hours a day. Previously, these vehicles were restricted to operating between 9:00 PM and 6:00 AM. The new regulation took effect on April 30, 2026. Hanoi also extended operating hours for certain vehicles used in traffic incident handling and drainage maintenance to allow 24-hour circulation.
