Six Activists Detained After Highway Blockade

Six activists were detained overnight following a road blockade on the A12 motorway near Utrecht. The protesters were targeting fossil fuel subsidies by causing traffic congestion on the A12 to allow other activists to proceed. The individuals are currently being interrogated and are expected to be released later today. Six men from Utrecht, Hoogkerk, Amstelveen, Burgum, Omenlo, and Eisselstijn were detained by police following a highway blockade. The activists blocked more than 400 vehicles during the demonstration. They are expected to face court proceedings today.
