May Day Rallies Held Across Europe
May Day rallies took place across Europe and the United States, with participants focusing on issues such as jobs and social cuts. May Day protests occurred across France, with nearly 300 marches and 158,000 demonstrators counted by the Interior Ministry. Protesters demanded wage increases and opposed changes to the holiday's status as a non-working day. Some participants chose train travel over cars for the early May holiday. Similar protests are occurring across South America, and in Turkey, May Day protests have turned violent in Istanbul. In Romania, the weather is expected to be cold, especially in the south, east, and locally in the center. Rain is expected in Moldova, Dobrogea, Muntenia, and Oltenia, with stronger winds in the mountains. In football, FEC-SB lost their away match in the Superliga playout.
