Jean-Luc Mélenchon To Run For French Presidency
The candidacy of Jean-Luc Mélenchon for the 2027 French presidential election could be officialised this Sunday. The La France Insoumise party is reportedly focusing on his leadership despite internal criticisms regarding democratic processes. The party is currently working to train new deputies and cadres to succeed the 74-year-old leader. According to reports, the fragmentation of the left-wing vote is viewed as a way to ensure a victory for the National Rally (RN) in the 2027 election. The Rassemblement National held a meeting in Mâcon, Saône-et-Loire, which had the characteristics of a pre-campaign event. This follows the party's decision to avoid holding May Day events in Paris for the third consecutive year. Jean-Luc Mélenchon has announced his candidacy for the French presidential elections scheduled for next April.
