The CGT union reported 300,000 participants nationwide, while police figures estimated 158,000 people attended. In Paris, the CGT claimed 100,000 protesters marched from Place de la République to Place de la Nation to demand better living conditions. Police reported 24,000 participants in the Paris procession and confirmed 15 arrests, including 7 in Paris.
