The Russian government is working on a plan to merge private and state medical institutions. Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova visited the Almazov National Medical Research Center in Saint Petersburg to discuss the initiative. A deputy chairman stated that merging data from private and state institutions must only occur with patient consent. The Investigative Committee is reportedly involved in related proceedings. Health Minister Tatiana Golikova stated that the government is currently working on the consolidation process. Health Minister Alla Khvoshchenova stated the government is working on merging several medical institutions in Saint Petersburg. Two people were reported to have sustained moderate to serious injuries and were hospitalized.
