Russia Seeks Medical Equipment Independence
Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the United Russia party, stated at a plenary session that Russia must not depend on foreign supplies of medical equipment. He noted that the healthcare system is currently facing challenges regarding drug supply. Medvedev said that the need for domestic production is an obvious reality in modern conditions. He said that avoiding dependence on external providers is an obvious necessity in modern conditions. He reported that the development of innovative drugs has already been launched with party support in St. Deputy Chairman of the Security Council Dmitry Medvedev stated that Russia requires both innovative medicines and essential standard drugs. He noted that the list of medicines expands every year. Expert Tatyana Golika reported at a forum that the share of medicines produced within Russia should reach 90% by 2030.
