Unsanctioned Demonstration Occurs In Zurich
Approximately 2,500 people participated in the march, which included spraying paint on facades and shop windows along the route. Police deployed a large presence to manage the situation. Similar demonstrations were reported in Bern and Basel. The protest was reportedly called for by far-left circles. According to local police, earlier May Day celebrations in the region proceeded without major incidents. The Swiss trade union movement is currently holding demonstrations under the motto 'Defend Jobs and Wages, No to Isolation'. Several dozen masked individuals gathered for an unauthorized demonstration in the city of Zurich during the night. The gathering resulted in riots, according to reports.
