She said the need for better integration of the Global South into development processes. Künast advocated for a shift toward partnerships and cooperation on equal footing rather than dependency. The minister's comments focused on reforming the system to create more effective global development plans. The proposal suggests moving away from direct funding toward methods that help states finance their own development and involve the private sector. The minister cited Haiti as a negative example where millions of euros in aid were provided but the country remains in a multiple crisis. The goal is to create resilient systems, such as healthcare, that do not rely solely on specific new hospital investments.
